Abstract:Objective To extract and summarize relevant evidence on the prevention and management of oral chemotherapy drug exposure in cancer patients at home,and to provide evidence-based recommendations for reducing oral chemotherapy drugs exposure. Methods Literature was researched on clinical decision-making websites, guideline websites, professional association websites, and comprehensive databases for articles on the prevention and management of exposure to oral chemotherapy drugs in cancer patients at home. The types of literature included guidelines, expert consensus, evidence summaries, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses, with a search timeframe from database inception to March 2024. Results A total of 19 articles were included, consisting of 2 guidelines, 14 expert consensus statements, 1 systematic review, and 2 evidence summaries. Through reading, extraction, and classification, 28 best evidence statements were generated, covering 6 aspects including organization and regulation, assessment and education, drug storage and disposal, administration methods, cleaning and disinfection, and compliance management. Conclusion This study summarized the best evidence for the prevention and management of exposure to oral chemotherapy drugs in cancer patients at home, allowing clinical healthcare professionals to implement evidence-based practices based on actual situations and promote the translation of evidence-based knowledge into practice.
