Abstract:Objective To explore the current status of self-compassion and its influencing factors among patients with multiple chro-nic conditions in the community, and to provide scientific basis for nursing staff to take targeted measures to promote the physical and mental health development of patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community.Methods A general information questionnaire, the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS), the Herth Hope Index (HHI) and the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) were used to investigate 402 patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community.Results The SCS score of patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community was (79.04±7.82).Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the level of hope and the level of perceived social support were influencing factors of self-compassion among patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community (both P<0.05).Conclusion The self-compassion of patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community is at a moderate level, and caregivers should strengthen the identification and intervention of patients′ self-compassion, formulate a targeted care plan, and fully mobilize the enthusiasm of patients and their families in the management of physical and mental health related to chronic comorbidities, in order to enhance the self-compassion level of patients with multiple chronic conditions in the community.
