Objective To explore the application effect of escape room teaching in the professional training of nursing clinical thinking module.Methods Baccalaureate nursing students from four classes enrolled in 2020 in our college were divided into an intervention group (n=80) and a control group (n=82) by drawing lots.The control group was taught by using case-based teaching combined with self-directed training, while the intervention group additionally received four sessions of escape room teaching in the operatio-nal training.Results The course assessment scores, critical thinking ability and humanistic care ability of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group (all P<0.05), and the time required to complete the game in the four training sessions was shortened in sequence (P<0.05).Conclusion The escape room teaching method has a good application effect in the professional training of nursing clinical thinking module, which is conducive to improving students′ operational level, critical thinking ability and humanistic care ability.
