Abstract:Objective To understand the current status of research on nurses′ multi-site practices at home and abroad, and to explore the methods suitable for the development of nurses′ multi-site practice in the context of the condition of our country.Methods Using the JBI2020 version of the Scoping Review Guidelines as the methodological framework, a systematic search of Chinese and English databases was conducted, as well as a manual search of policy documents published on each country′s government website.The search time frame was from the establishment of the database to August 2023.Results A total of 31 papers from 8 countries were included.The forms of practice were broadly categorized into 3 types: agency nurses, part-time out-of-hospital nurses, and Internet home-based nurses; the locations of practice included hospitals, homes, communities, private clinics, long-term care facilities, prisons, and schools; holding a register nurse license were the basic entry requirement for multi-site practice; and there were some differences in the registration management of multi-site practice in different countries.Conclusion Different countries have different forms of nurse multi-site practice and various places of practice.China′s nurse multi-site practice is still in the exploratory stage, and it is necessary to further enrich the form of nurse multi-site practice, expand the places of multi-site practice, scientifically plan the access me-chanism of multi-site practice and optimize the practice registration system, and develop localized nurse multi-site practice.
