This paper introduces the concept, origin and development, basic principles, application purposes, and construction methods of patient journey mappings.It is proposed that patient journey mapping is an important tool for information sharing among healthcare professionals, chronic disease patients and their families.In the future, patient journey mappings should be explored for different types of chronic disease patients in accordance with China′s national conditions and relevant policies,in order to optimize the experience of chronic disease patients and the quality of long-term care.
