The paper provides a comprehensive overview of the development and current status of home, community, and institutional long-term care models for the people live with dementia both domestically and internationally. Home-based care models include cognitive caregiver support groups and dementia family support centers.Community-based long-term care models include dementia -friendly communities and shared housing arrangements. Institutional long-term care models include memory clinics, dementia specialty dementia care units, day care centers, and green care farms. It is proposed that information management system of dementia should be carried out, and that more professional caregivers for dementia should be trained to improve the quality of long-term care for dementia in China.
