Objective To investigate the status of chronic respiratory diseases management in respiratory specialized nurses, so as to provide reference for improving the management level of chronic respiratory disease. Methods An investigation questionnaire was designed according to the guideline for nursing management of adult patients with chronic respiratory diseases in China, which was then used to investigate 205 respiratory specialized nurses from Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shanxi, Hebei, Hubei and Hainan totally 7 provinces or cities. Results The respiratory specialized nurses′ total score of chronic respiratory diseases management was （140.72±23.90）. The three items with the lowest score in chronic respiratory disease management was the application of assessment tools, the implementation of personalized management plan, the number of follow-up visits to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the guidance of peak flow meter for asthma patients.The construction of respiratory chronic disease ma-nagement platform in the nurses′ working institutions were less than 50%. Conclusion The management of chronic respiratory di-sease among respiratory specialized nurses is at a medium or low level, and assessment is the weekness of chronic respiratory diseases management. It is necessary to strengthen respiratory specialized nurses′ specialty ability cultivation, standardize the whole process ma-nagement of chronic respiratory disease, and intensify the platform construction in hospital, so as to improve management level of chronic respiratory diseases.
